॥ जय माँ मानिला देवी ॥
Temple History
The journey of Maa Manila Devi Dham - from a Katyuri-era shrine to a living centre of faith in the Kumaon hills.
Historical Overview
Manila Devi Dham: At a Glance
-
In 1488 AD, the Katyuri King Bahad Dev established the shrine of his family deity (Kuldevi) at this sacred site.
-
The temple retained its original form until 1572. Over the centuries natural calamities caused damage, yet two small ancient temples of that era still stand, preserving its glorious heritage.
-
Nestled amidst forests of Deodar, Oak, Rhododendron and Pine, the temple offers divine, panoramic views of the majestic Himalayan snow peaks.
